An intimate gaze. A joyful laugh. A quiet pause. These images capture the emotions that run through
a couple’s wedding day with reflections from the photographers and the story behind these special moments.
Wedding days can be so fast moving sometimes and a walk together can slow the pace. The evening
was breezy and the sky was sunset perfection. We took a walk to give the bride and groom a few
moments to just BE. As soon as the bride's feet hit the sand, she immediately took off her shoes to feel
the sand on her toes and the couple hugged and danced while the wind whipped the veil in all sorts of
directions. Trying to control it made for a ton of belly laughs for all of us. Photo and caption by Rachel Bell Photography
The bride just fell in love with this coastal location and she wished, all year, for a sunset sky on
their wedding day. She got her wish with a breathtaking sky full of color. She was full of so much
contagious joy as she twirled on the dock then embraced and danced with her new husband. I took this
image with a telephoto lens from way back on the upper dock but I could hear their laughter carry
through the air. Photo and caption by Rachel Bell Photography
The groom was so very nervous throughout the ceremony and the bride was quietly reassuring him
that he was doing great. As soon as they were pronounced married and kissed, the groom just released
a flood of emotion and a giant "phew" came out while the bride was laugh-crying. Friends and family
surrounding them, laughing and cheering them on. Photo and caption by Rachel Bell Photography
After getting dressed and ready, the groom and his groomsmen relaxed with a round
of pool before getting the wedding day started. Photo and caption by Anna Solo Photography

Noticing the little details that each couple chooses for their wedding day tells just as
much of the story as the portraits and in-between moments do. Photo and caption by Anna Solo Photography

This couple was so excited to get to their wedding celebration and their enthusiasm is
evident in their body language as they leave their ceremony. Photo and caption by Anna Solo Photography
The quiet moments before the main events of a wedding day are some of the most significant both for the couple and the photographer. It's when we get to witness the truest emotions, as each half of the couple gets ready. Photo and caption by Anna Solo Photography
Often ceremonies have a fairly expected look and layout. This upper level and the
framing of the scene was a way to show something different, to tell the story more thoroughly. Photo and caption by Anna Solo Photography
Photo proof that stormy portraits are always worth creating! This bride
ended up loving the editorial-style photographs where raindrops played a part in the narrative. As a documentary-driven photographer, I love capturing moments like these. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
It’s so special to tap into a couples love language and capture how their relationship reflects energetically. I’m telling you, Sarah’s smile was expansive like this the entire day! Just love the feeling of this frame. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
I love it when my couples make space for plenty of portrait time following their first look. Its a really sweet opportunity to love on each other and create intimate
portraits, while bringing a calming energy to the day. Just look at how present and in love Ali and James look, ready to say I do. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
One of my favorite portrait moments of this day was a stylish "first
drink" editorial session — Emma and Chris's take on the classic "first look". We were lucky to
have Via Vecchia to ourselves (one of their favorites), with a moody lounge and plenty of unique
compositions to create. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
Caswell Farm set the stage for an enchanting Maine backdrop on a
particularly raw, damp day. But you wouldn't know it from the energy of this couple and their
wedding party, showering the newlyweds with birdseed as raindrops showered us from above. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
This tent was brimming with midsummer light, belly laughs,
champagne clinks, and just… life. I love simply being present to capture the spirit of the celebration around me. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
2023 was the season of rain-soaked weddings! Not every
couple is up for venturing out in the rain, but these two embraced the elements beautifully. We managed five minutes of portrait time before the rain forced us indoors. And you know what?
Five minutes is sometimes all you need. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
A brilliant clear-top tent and a spotlight on Tricia and Brett create a romantic
backdrop for this stolen moment. Photo and caption by Alanna Hogan Photography
The father daughter dance can be such a tear jerker. Paige has such a special relationship with her
father and it was such a touching moment to watch them share this moment together. Photo and caption by Blue Locket Photography
After pivoting their original plans due to an all day forecast of rain, Erin and Chris embraced the
weather and had a fantastic wedding day. For the last shot of the night, we went out into the deluge one more time to capture their carefree and loving spirit and make the best of the rain. Photo and caption by Blue Locket Photography
During a busy morning of wedding preparations, Paige paused a moment here to read this note from her future husband. Photo and caption by Blue Locket Photography
After hiking to the base of this mystical waterfall, the bride and groom shared their love and
commitment to one another where the falls rushed behind them. Their closest family members were
scattered among the rocks, watching these two adventurous souls become one. Just as the two went
in to seal their commitment with a kiss, the wind brushed through the bride's hair adding a dramatic
flare as the falls reached out around them. It was one of those moments that made my heart burst with gratitude that I get to document incredible moments like these! Photo and caption by Katie Arnold Photography
The groom takes a moment to soak in all the love that he and his bride had encountered
throughout their day. Looking over at his wife with a genuine expression of gratitude. These are the
moments that when documented, can bring you right back to those timeless wedding day emotions. Photo and caption by Katie Arnold Photography
What makes a wedding truly special to me is the little moments. At this wedding the
bride and mother were very close. In this photo the mother was only bustling the bride’s
dress on the way to the reception. When I captured this moment, I couldn’t help but think of all of the times that these hands have helped the bride get ready over the years.
How such a small task held so much love and can be so special on such a meaningfully
day. Photo and caption by Megen Asia Photography
It is so easy to get swept up in the festivities and tasks of a wedding day. After the ceremony when I have the bride and groom alone, I like to get them to take a moment.
A moment for them to be present with each other and what they just accomplished. Photo and caption by Megen Asia Photography
A Family Affair designed and planned the most magnificent wedding day for Theo and Alec. This included a
last minute venue change inland to Golden Pine Farm due to the Hurricane. As pictured here by their
amazing smiles, the couple rolled with all the changes and had the most wonderful day with their
friends and family. Theo is wearing the most beautiful flower crown in this photo made by Eastern River Farm. Photo and caption by Heidi Kirn Weddings

their way into forever. Hora photographed at beech ridge barn. Photo and caption by Breonna Wells Photography.
One of the most surreal moments of a wedding day is the final steps of getting
ready. Capturing this important moment of elegance and anticipation is one of my favorites as a wedding photographer. The intimate moments prior to walking
down the aisle help share how the magic of the wedding day unfolds. Photo and caption by Tayla Paige Photography
Well with THAT veil, I knew we had to show it off. There is nothing more captivating
than a beautiful bride running like a symphony of dress and tulle blowing in the wind. Photo and caption by Kim Chapman Photography
As I took these series of photos of the bride being helped out of the car by her dad, I was very aware of the vintage allure of the image. The scene unfolded like a classic red
carpet moment with the bride exuding an aura of timeless elegance reminiscent of Old
Hollywood glamour. Photo and caption by Kim Chapman Photography
When the groomsmen wanted to be photographed in front of the Nonantum’s iconic
lighthouse, I thought I’d play with the long shadows and symmetry to sort of “own” the
protruding lighthouse. This is not a “pose” that I usually do, but I feel that it worked here. Photo and caption by Kim Chapman Photography
I knew what I had with this frame_ right away. The bride’s Old Hollywood look invites the viewers to immerse themselves into a world of vintage charm and sophistication. The
image appears to be plucked from a classic film reel. Photo and caption by Kim Chapman Photography
Getting ready and putting the final touches on her outfit, Laura put her jewelry on while
looking out the window of the Burklyn Inn. The weather was unpredictable that day and we were
pleasantly surprised by a dry spell where we could be outside taking photos. Photo and caption by Kate Preftakes Photography
A flower garnished tree swing was the most romantic spot for portraits of this bride and
groom. Tea lights hung from the branches and the couple took a moment to enjoy their wedding in a
romantic setting together. Photo and caption by Kate Preftakes Photography
My bride Emma was so full of personality and exuberance! We were walking around
taking portraits and she spun around in her dress making for a beautiful portrait! Photo and caption by Kate Preftakes Photography
I always take the time to get a few iconic bridal portraits right after the bride puts on her
wedding dress. It’s a special moment in the wedding day because it is filled with anticipation and
excitement. The bride’s makeup and hair are perfect and it’s a quiet moment to take it all in before the day gets going. Photo and caption by Kate Preftakes Photography
Right after the ceremony the bridal party surrounded the couple with so many congratulations and hugs. I loved that the couple stopped to take in their new rings on their hands. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
This was right after the couples first look. I have to say it is so fun to get to be apart of such intimate moments on a couples day. The groom was so taken aback. So genuine and lovely. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
This was just a second before the couple was going to enter to be announced into their reception. A really sweet capture by my second shooter Tarae Ramos. Such a great moment of anticipation. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
This couple was all smiles all day long. I often love to get my couples moving even ask them to run together. This was right at the end of their session, and I asked them to run together back to their party. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
A quiet moment with just the bride and groom towards the end of the day, late fall in a beautiful field. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
For their photos, we took a walk down the road to a beautiful bay nearby parent’s house. When we passed a wooded area, the sun was so gorgeous coming through the trees we had to stop for a few photos. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
This lovely couple was married at the family Homestead of the bride, down the road from the house there was this beautiful Field, that the bride had always loved. We knew we wanted to go there for photos late in the day.
It was late fall so the grass was tall and I loved the way her veil trailed over the tops of the grass as they walked. Photo and caption by Emily Delamater Photography
