August 29, 2015 Dover, NH Karen and Charlie dated for eight years before he proposed the day after Christmas. A pilot, Charlie got home at 2 a.m. Karen waited up for him. When Charlie insisted that she open a few of her gifts, Karen reluctantly agreed.
