May 13, 2017 Kennebunkport, ME The lush gardens of Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport provided the romantic setting for Leah and Alex’s Maine wedding in front of friends and family. The ceremony was followed by an intimate dinner, and dancing in the property’s rustic barn. Leah wanted a relaxed, outdoor wedding and knew she’d found the perfect venue when she and Alex discovered Hidden Pond. In fact, the couple found wedding planning to be a lovely way to get to know each other better. “I loved learning more about Alex as we planned our wedding,” says Leah. “We talked about things…

Paul and Jessica share a fun moment on their wedding day in Maine

July 16th, 2016 York, ME Celebrating their love on a hot summer’s day was a moment made even sweeter by the fact that the bride, Jessica, was completely recovered from open-heart surgery she’d undergone a few years earlier, to remove a benign tumor from her aortic valve. “Originally we had planned on getting married in 2014, but that would have been just too much for me,” said Jessica, “so we put it off for a couple of years to allow me to fully recover.” Surgery was the farthest thing from Jessica’s mind as she married Paul at the seaside York…

Kate and chris share a special moment before their wedding

August 6th, 2016 Hampton, NH What happens when two event planners come together in life and love? For Kate and Chris Malloy, a perfectly beautiful wedding. Kate is a longtime wedding and corporate event planner; Chris is a professional audio, video and lighting designer for political and corporate events. The two have known each other for many years; their engagement and wedding merged their businesses, professional expertise, and love for one another. “Being a wedding planner and a bride at the same time was stressful, but I had to just let go at some point,” admits Kate. The couple got…

The couple, who worked together for years before becoming engaged, has New Hampshire roots: Jessica attended the University of New Hampshire and lived in nearby Dover, while Darshan’s family lives in Epping. To honor both families, they had two wedding ceremonies: a traditional Sikh ceremony at Darshan’s family home on Friday, and a second ceremony on Saturday at the Rivermill at Dover Landing in Dover. Family from all over the world, including England, Canada, California, and Maine, attended the…

August 23rd, 2014 Rye, NH No detail went unnoticed in Jessica and Anthony’s wedding, even the date. Jessica, who admits “there wasn’t a detail I wasn’t involved in,” researched weather data and selected their wedding day based on the date which historically had the best weather on the New Hampshire Seacoast. She chose well. The weather was beautiful for their ceremony and reception, held at Rye Harbor State Park, in Rye, NH. The site was a perfect fit with their “by the sea” theme. Jessica enjoyed the do-it-yourself aspect of wedding planning, creating bud vases from Perrier bottles with her…

September 27th, 2014 Camden, ME Laura and Chris wanted a waterfront wedding celebration evoking a festive, black and gold-themed cocktail party for themselves, their friends, and family, many of whom – on Chris’s side – were traveling from the Netherlands. Laura’s family has lived in and around Camden, ME, for five generations so the Camden Yacht Club, where Laura learned to sail as a girl, was a logical choice for their ceremony and reception. An added celebratory touch: the Camden International Film Festival coincided with the wedding weekend, drawing hundreds of visitors, in addition to the couple’s wedding guests, to…

July 19th, 2014 Freeport, ME Julia met Drew at the University of Rhode Island. Self-described “outdoors people,” they knew once they were engaged that they would have an outdoor wedding. Their venue, Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport, ME, has a wedding field with stunning water views as well as one of Maine’s oldest post and beam barns. A campground adjacent to the farm, Recompence Shore Campground, offers oceanfront cabins that the couple as well as their wedding party stayed in the night prior to the wedding. Quilts, vintage fabrics, bunting, whimsical signage and more, all created by Julia’s mother, gave…

September 27th, 2014 Kennebunkport, ME Maine has been a constant theme in Jessie’s life. She attended summer camp there as a child, then attended Bates College in Lewiston. The wedding and reception were held at Hidden Pond Resort in Kennebunkport, which offered a number of perks for guests: biking, paddle boarding, swimming, and enjoying the beautiful seaside community. Wedding planner Audrey Zahares of Azalea Events in Kennebunkport helped the couple create an idyllic woodland setting for their ceremony. “Everything Hidden Pond and Audrey set up for the ceremony –…

July 27th, 2013 Gloucester, MA When Pauline and Jeff met, it was “love at first sight,” says Pauline. Together for five years, they share a love for the beach (they live in Encinitas, CA, where they visit the beach almost daily) and a sense of humor. Jeff proposed to Pauline by decorating a locally famous surf statue called the “Cardiff Kook,” dressing it in a tuxedo shirt and pink bow tie, along with fake diamond ring on a pillow and a sign reading “Pauline V. Marry Me.” His stunt got the couple on the local television news. Humor was evident…

Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA, was one of their favorite spots to visit on the North Shore so they chose to get married at the adjacent Crane Estate. The couple’s close…
