Bye Bye Monochrome, Hello Bold Bride

By Malinda Macari, Owner of Your Dream Bridal Today’s brides have more flexibility in bridalwear than ever before – a true testament to the power of the evolving bridal fashion industry. Women are encouraged to wear not only what they feel most comfortable in, but what captures their style completely. They are (thankfully) no longer limited to choosing only from traditional gowns in white or eggshell, but are encouraged to embrace new fabrics, colors and accessories to show their personality in every aspect of their wedding day. These new elements have made their way from the runway to bridal boutiques…

Keeping Cozy with Chic Cover-ups

By Malinda Macari, Owner of Your Dream Bridal Henry Longfellow once said: “love keeps the cold out better than a cloak,” and I would agree. While staying warm may not be a concern when you get engaged in May, by the time January rolls around, you may want something to keep the chill away. An added bonus? With cover ups, a subtle change from ceremony to reception will give you two unique looks to flaunt on your wedding day. If chosen properly with your gown in mind, a beautiful shawl or delicate sweater can accentuate the shape and details of…

Traditional american wedding for jessica darshan

August 15th & 16th, 2014 Epping & Dover, NH Jessica and Darshan’s two-day wedding celebration blended American and Sikh wedding traditions. The couple, who worked together for years before becoming engaged, has New Hampshire roots: Jessica attended the University of New Hampshire and lived in nearby Dover, while Darshan’s family lives in Epping. To honor both families, they had two wedding ceremonies: a traditional Sikh ceremony at Darshan’s family home on Friday, and a second ceremony on Saturday at the Rivermill at Dover Landing in Dover. Family from all over the world, including England, Canada, California, and Maine, attended the…

Laura Gross & Chris Van Der Lugt

September 27th, 2014 Camden, ME Laura and Chris wanted a waterfront wedding celebration evoking a festive, black and gold-themed cocktail party for themselves, their friends, and family, many of whom – on Chris’s side – were traveling from the Netherlands. Laura’s family has lived in and around Camden, ME, for five generations so the Camden Yacht Club, where Laura learned to sail as a girl, was a logical choice for their ceremony and reception. An added celebratory touch: the Camden International Film Festival coincided with the wedding weekend, drawing hundreds of visitors, in addition to the couple’s wedding guests, to…

Pauline Vromovrisiotis & Jeff Conway

July 27th, 2013 Gloucester, MA When Pauline and Jeff met, it was “love at first sight,” says Pauline. Together for five years, they share a love for the beach (they live in Encinitas, CA, where they visit the beach almost daily) and a sense of humor. Jeff proposed to Pauline by decorating a locally famous surf statue called the “Cardiff Kook,” dressing it in a tuxedo shirt and pink bow tie, along with fake diamond ring on a pillow and a sign reading “Pauline V. Marry Me.” His stunt got the couple on the local television news. Humor was evident…
