August 15th, 2015 Portland, ME Margie and Matt got engaged in an Oregon vineyard on Halloween 2014. There was nothing spooky about their wedding at The Portland Company, on the waterfront. The ceremony and reception were held in separate rooms in the building. “It’s a raw industrial space,” says Margie. “We fell in love with it.” A former event planner, Margie planned the wedding herself. They stayed true to themselves as they said their vows on the Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth, a historic landmark in a city that means so much to them. The ceremony was private with just the officiant (who was Ashleigh’s uncle), the best man and the maid of honor—exactly…

Bohemian Wedding Inspiration

Nancy Gorman, owner of Makeup by Nancy A Bohemian Chic style wedding has become a popular trend and lately and, we, a group of New England wedding professionals collaborated together and created a styled shoot that provided a different twist on it then the normal neutrals, greens and cream colors. One of them was a ring. “I saw it and thought ‘oh no, here I am wearing my reindeer pajamas and he’s proposing’!” she says. The couple wanted a relaxed wedding, “nothing typical,” Karen…

Pop of Color

By Nancy Gorman, owner of Makeup by Nancy Once upon a time there used to be a “wedding season” such as the freshness of the June Bride or the vibrancy of the autumn leaves. I’m finding now there is no real wedding season now. Weddings are 12 months a year. Which is certainly good for the wedding professionals for sure! Lately there have been a barrage of winter weddings, photo’s done wearing a faux fur shawl or shrug outside with…

But one day wouldn’t do, so the couple chose the long July 4th weekend, which gave them the ideal scenario to spend extra time with their family and friends. A lobster bake rehearsal dinner, marine-themed gifts for the wedding…
