2024 Seacoast Hitched Heroes
Every year, a lucky military couple is selected to be Seacoast Hitched Heroes. Wedding vendors donate their services as a thank you for the military couple’s service.
This year, not only is the groom, Jeremy, a retired lance corporal with the Marines, he also served as a police officer for Newmarket, New Hampshire, for 25 years and now works part-time for the Greenland (NH) Police Department. To top it off, Lindsay is a third-grade teacher and a hero in her own right!
The couple has a blended family of five children ranging in age from 15 to their early 20s. They met five years ago while working part-time in the summer at Hampton Beach Ballroom & Casino, he as security and she as wait staff. Lindsay says it took awhile for them to connect—but the rest is history. “It was my second marriage,” she says, “and I didn’t want to look like a typical bride.” Since the couple had their beloved motorcycle at the wedding—“our early dating days were rides”—Lindsay opted for a pair of Doc Martens boots under her dress. “I’m not a super girly-girl,” she notes.
About 90 guests gathered at Saltonstall Farm to celebrate with the couple. Lindsay says her friend, Erin, was instrumental in securing the wedding for them. “We had this beautiful, most perfect wedding that we would never have spent the money on for ourselves,” she says. “Everyone was so wonderful, and we’re so grateful.”
