Peaks Island, ME
Katie and Tyler knew they’d found just the right wedding venue on their very first site visit, to The Inn on Peaks Island. “It hit everything we wanted,” says Katie, noting the beautiful location, the good seafood options for their catering, the picturesque on-site gazebo, and the fact that wedding coordinator Jayson was great to work with. “We also loved that we could book out The Inn for guests, and that most of our family lives close by.” The fact that Katie’s parents once lived on the small island—which is only accessible by ferry—made the venue even more special.
Katie went for the full ball-gown look for her dress, which she says carried out the vibe of “elegance, but with a beach feel.” She adds, “I wanted a dress that was big, poufy, and sparkly—something I would never wear again. I absolutely loved the flow and the lacy off-the-shoulder sleeves.” Her bridesmaids and husband-to-be wore shades of blue, the couple’s favorite color.
“I’m glad we didn’t do a first look,” says Katie. “I loved walking down the aisle with my dad and having that classic moment of seeing each other for the first time. It was very surreal and intense.” She adds that the perfect August weather and a gorgeous sunset topped off the couple’s incredible day. •
