Casandra and Anubhav’s journey began in 2022, sparked by a Hinge date. Their story showcases a beautiful cultural fusion, blending Indian, Puerto Rican, American, and Filipino traditions. The couple’s wedding celebration was a vibrant example of multicultural wedding harmony. The centerpiece of their cultural mash-up was an ambitious menu that reflected their diverse heritage. They faced the challenge of finding a single caterer capable of delivering an authentic multi-ethnic feast, but without a doubt, by the time the ras malai tres leches was served, the result was a culinary bridge between worlds.

Guests also left with a piece of tradition: a colorful Indian sweet box as a favor. The color and flavor were fully embodied in the wedding’s aesthetic, with Casandra’s best friend leading the design of the mandap (wedding canopy). The floral arrangements were a deliberate blend of symbolism: traditional marigolds paired with tropical lime-green orchids, orange dahlia, and pincushion protea, plus pink torch ginger in Casandra’s bridal bouquet. Neither newlywed is explicitly religious, but they say they are spiritual, and that shows through in wedding rituals centered on fire, including the Filipino lamp-lighting ceremony and the Hindu Saptapadi, which involves taking seven steps around a sacred fire to symbolize seven lifelong promises. The day was a testament to compromise and their love of learning, and to their community of friends and family. As Anubhav put it, “It was just a great day.”
