Since it was music that brought Andrea and Ethan together, it seemed only fitting that the couple would have a musically themed wedding at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club. They originally met when he was singing with an all-male a-cappella group from Connecticut College that performed at the University of Vermont, where she attended and was performing with the school’s all-female a-cappella group. “We met at the after party but didn’t actually date until seven years later,” says Ethan.

As for her dress, Andrea says it was something entirely different from what she originally had in mind, but she knew it was right the moment she tried it on. “It felt like me wearing the dress, not the dress wearing me.” She also felt that having a “first look” at Prescott Park was an important part of the day. “We front-loaded the more formal photos that way, which meant we could be with our guests during the entire cocktail hour.”

Ethan’s mother is Jewish, and the couple wove a few Jewish traditions into the ceremony and reception, including having both sets of parents walk them down the aisle. “Actually,” says Ethan, “both my parents were supposed to walk with me, but our flower girl got terrible stage fright, so my dad walked down with her.” He adds that the couple loved everything about Jimmy’s. “They have such an ace team. They really went a step beyond to ‘jazz’ things up for us—pun intended!”
