An intimate, vintage-style wedding turned out to be just the thing for Tori and Jonathan, who opted for an outdoor ceremony under a 100-year-old apple tree at Tops’l Farm. “It was so fun having apples on the tree and hearing them fall to the ground during the ceremony. And having a ‘micro-wedding’ with just nine immediate family members meant we had none of the stress and expense of coordinating a big wedding,” notes Tori. “We were blown away by how emotional we got reading our vows—I think because we were with just our immediate families.”
As an antiques collector, Tori went for vintage touches and a nostalgic-looking dress topped off by a 100-year-old, French-lace veil she found in an online search. “Jonathan and I also collected nine antique wooden chairs and brought them for our guests’ seating during the ceremony.” As an added bonus, Tops’l’s entire farmhouse was reserved for the bride and groom and their guests to stay overnight.
The wedding party enjoyed the farm’s set-menu, three-course Barn Dinner in the barn’s private mezzanine, starting with a signature cocktail and finishing with a delicious carrot wedding cake with spiced cream-cheese frosting. Afterward, everyone went back to the farmhouse and sat around the fire pit, toasting marshmallows for s’mores. “The stars were ridiculously bright, and we could hear the sheep moving around near us. It really was perfect.”
