Allie and Dylan eloped on the top of Hawk Mountain in Maine in 2021. On their one-year anniversary, they knew they wanted to throw “the funky brewery wedding of our dreams” to celebrate their marriage with family and friends.
Everything about their post-elopement celebration was untraditional and true to the couple. Instead of hiring hair and makeup services, Allie enlisted her stepmom and best friends. All the stationery was created by Allie, as the designer and owner of Girl That Designs. Every detail, from the venue and food to the flowers and music, had direct meaning for the couple.
“My husband is the brewer at Austin Street Brewery, where we celebrated our engagement, so of course our wedding celebration had to be there. Once the wheels were in motion and we began choosing vendors, we decided on a team of mostly friends and past branding clients of mine to further the personal connection of the day,” Allie says. Guests were served from food trucks with an Italian twist, in homage to their Italian honeymoon trip.
When asked what advice they would give to couples planning their wedding, Allie notes, “Choose elements that truly feel like you and your partner—and remember to have fun!”
