Hannah and Dylan moved from Alabama to Maine just before COVID-19 hit, so they found themselves spending a lot of time with his brother, Dallas, and sister-in-law, Clara, at her historic family home on the ocean. “We spent pretty much every weekend together, trying to get through the pandemic,” says Hannah. “Dallas and Clara had been married there in 2018, so we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding.” She adds that she wanted to keep the day laid back and intimate, without a lot of fussiness. “I thought the property spoke for itself.”
For her flowers, Hannah opted for a minimalist color scheme of neutrals and greenery with a bit of dusty blue. “I offered my bridal party two neutral color options from Mumu (showmeyourmumu.com), one satin and one matte, in any style they liked.”
Since Hannah was “dead set” against having a first look, she recalls coming down the stairs on the arm of Dylan’s dad and seeing Dylan’s face—the first time he saw her—as a highlight of the day. She adds that what made the day special for Dylan was having a family friend, “who’s like a second mom to him,” as their officiant. “And I think he was really touched and impressed by my vows,” she says. “We wrote our own, which was stressful, but I was happy we did.”
