A simple backyard wedding at her in-laws’ historic residence, lovingly known as the Blueberry Farm, was exactly what Bailey was looking for. “It’s so beautiful, it was already the perfect venue,” she says. “I always knew we’d have our wedding there. We thought it would be fun if our guests could wander through the bushes picking blueberries to take home.”

The overall wedding look was meant to be light and airy, “like a posh backyard summer party,” Bailey explains. “I just wanted everything laid-back and casual.” That meant cool blue shades for the bridesmaids’ dresses and a lightweight dress for the bride that showed just a little bit of leg. “My dress fit me so well and was so light, I knew I wouldn’t be tripping over it.”

Bailey recalls one light-hearted moment during the cake cutting. “Ryan’s mom had the idea of the guys cutting the cake—because who doesn’t want a handsome groomsman serving them cake, right? Well, it soon became obvious the boys couldn’t cut cake, and the pieces were coming out all crumpled. But it still tasted good!” Perhaps her favorite memory was when she and Ryan were whisked away to the front of the house for photos. “It was just us for this private, quiet time in front of this beautiful home,” she says.
