Mary Catherine Kowalsky + JP White

August 22, 2020

Harpswell, Maine

High school sweethearts Mary Catherine and JP got engaged during a morning walk with their new puppy to Mackworth Island in Falmouth, ME. JPs best friend helped him coordinate the perfect set-up out on the rock pier.

They were married at Sacred Heart Parish in Yarmouth, ME where Mary Catherine grew up attending. The reception was held at a family home where JP spent his summers and Mary Catherine spent most of her Fourth of July celebrations. “The Dingley Island house had a lot of meaning to both of us and the family was gracious enough to allow us to plan our dream day there,” says Mary Catherine. They both wanted a classic, low-key, Maine coastal wedding.

Even though their guest list went from 200 to 25, they couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. Both families (especially their mothers) were involved in getting the house ready. The menu was planned entirely around their favorite foods. “We’re both quite casual and laid back and really liked the idea of a summer cookout,” says Mary Catherine. “The caterer did an amazing job of jazzing it up and making it beautiful and delicious. The whole day was really just a dream come true!”
