Danielle Slocum + Jake Dimick

August 29, 2020

Waldoboro, Maine

Jake and Danielle have been together since high school. “It has been pretty special to change and grow together over the years,” says Danielle. They were engaged on the summit of Mt. Tom in Crawford Notch, NH. Jake wrote “marry me” on a ball and tried to enlist their dog River to retrieve it, but that didn’t work out as planned. “Getting a dog involved in a proposal is a bold move,” says Danielle.

They heard about Tops’l Farm through a friend. Once they visited the property, they knew it was the right choice. The beautiful grounds, A-frames and tents gave it a camp meets vintage farmhouse vibe.

Their wedding went from 100 people to 20 because of CDC guidelines. Inclement weather changed their plans from marrying under an apple tree to having the ceremony in the barn. Danielle reminisced, “Besides marrying my best friend, one of my favorite parts of the wedding weekend was setting everything up and enjoying the property. Almost everyone was there the day before to help string lights, decorate, talk logistics and reminisce. I remember saying to my family, it’s like we are setting up a big fancy party all for ourselves!
