Having an al fresco wedding ceremony followed by dining under the stars was a top wedding wish for Lora and Steven, who said Caswell Farm had all the elements they wanted. “We loved its homey atmosphere and the fact that it had several spaces guests could enjoy. There was the farm, where they grew a lot of the vegetables we served, and then the tent where we set up games like corn hole. And if guests wanted to dance later, we had the barn.”
The couple loves Indian food, and Lora was pleased that the head of catering “just rolled with the Indian theme.” Incorporating the farm’s produce, they served coconut vegetable korma with curry, plus a grilled-corn and heirloom-tomato salad and local roasted chicken.
In a day filled with emotion, one moment stands out in the minds of both Lora and Steven. “It was our ‘first look’ before the ceremony,” said Lora. “We read our personal vows to each other then, because we knew we’d be crying.” Steven added, “We read promises to each other that we want to keep for the rest of our lives. It was our favorite part of the whole day.”
