Liz met John in the high school lunch line. A new sophomore at a new high school, she was delighted when John introduced himself. “We became friends right away,” she says. They began dating soon after and, together, navigated growing up: finishing high school, transitioning to college, and entering adulthood. Through it all, their relationship endured. “It changed as we changed and grew,” Liz says.
The couple discussed marriage many times but also wanted to be established in their careers before taking that step. “We wanted to make sure it was the right moment in our lives,” Liz says. Finally, on the first night of a Maine vacation celebrating their nine-year anniversary, John proposed.
A year later, they celebrated with their families at a festive summer wedding on the rocky Maine coast. Liz chose soft colors and a classic, timeless look for her wedding palette. “Simplicity is important to me,” she says.
The couple has embarked on their next chapter with gusto, buying their first home and adding two dogs, Bailey and Finley, to their family. They continue to celebrate their ever-evolving relationship.
