Music played a starring role at Elizabeth and Sam’s wedding ceremony at the stunning Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, MA. Elizabeth, a pianist, is executive director of the DC Youth Orchestra Program in Washington, DC; music is an integral part of the couple’s lives.
Rather than extensive readings during their ceremony, the couple planned three musical pieces, performed by friends and set against a picture-perfect view of Rockport Harbor. Elizabeth surprised Sam with a pop-up musical performance of his favorite classical piece, “Danzón No. 2” by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, performed by a small orchestra. “It was a huge surprise,” Sam says. The music continued during the reception at the Rockport Golf Club, where the couple (who met on Match.com) and their guests spent most of the evening on the dance floor. “My favorite part of the day was having everyone we love there to witness our commitment,” says Elizabeth. “There’s nothing we’d change.”
