Stephanie Krom and Colin Townrow

Stephanie and Colin wanted a small wedding on the water. Maine has special memories for Stephanie; her grandparents had a summer cottage near the historic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. “We knew we wanted something casual that could also be a destination weddings for our families, who live in other parts of the country,” she says. Her wedding planner, Emily Hricko, helped secure The Bradley Inn, a scenic spot within walking distance of the lighthouse, where the couple held their ceremony.

Details of the weekend reflected the couple’s low-key style. Guests gathered at the Inn for a lobster bake the night before the wedding. The next morning, Stephanie and Colin enjoyed breakfast with their guests, then went their separate ways for a relaxing afternoon until the 4 p.m. ceremony. Afterwards, everyone gathered for cocktails and a casual dinner at the Contented Sole, a waterfront restaurant near the lighthouse. Instead of wedding cake, guests enjoyed blueberry and pecan pies. Fittingly, the couple’s favors were blueberry jam, homemade by Stephanie’s “opa” (grandfather). “It was so special,” says Stephanie, who together with her mom, helped her grandfather make the jam. “And we got married at his favorite spot to visit. The whole weekend was special for all of us.”
