Calligraphy Styles

By Laura Lubanski

We have been seeing a trend towards incorporating gorgeous hand calligraphy throughout the invitation suite, and we must admit, we’re a bit smitten! Calligraphy is such an art form and we love the idea of an actual person calligraphing your text, adding such a personal touch to your invitations! It can be used in so many different ways that it’s hard to find a reason not to incorporate this element into your suite. From super modern to very classic, there are tons of calligraphy styles that fit your wedding style!

If you’re going for a more traditional feel to your invitations, incorporating a classic calligraphy style will set just the right tone.

Using a playful style of calligraphy can really add whimsy to your invitation. We love clustering the names together and adding in calligraphy flourish accents to round out the design.

Flowy, romantic calligraphy has been very popular as it can be used for so many types of weddings, from an elegant seaside wedding to a black tie city soiree!

Brush lettering is a much more modern style of calligraphy and we love the watercolor feel it gives to a piece. It gives so much depth and movement to your text, a win-win in our book!
