Pauline Vromovrisiotis & Jeff Conway

July 27th, 2013
Gloucester, MA

When Pauline and Jeff met, it was “love at first sight,” says Pauline. Together for five years, they share a love for the beach (they live in Encinitas, CA, where they visit the beach almost daily) and a sense of humor. Jeff proposed to Pauline by decorating a locally famous surf statue called the “Cardiff Kook,” dressing it in a tuxedo shirt and pink bow tie, along with fake diamond ring on a pillow and a sign reading “Pauline V. Marry Me.” His stunt got the couple on the local television news.

Humor was evident in the couple’s reception held at Cruiseport Gloucester, an indoor venue with magnificent views of Gloucester’s working harbor. The couple entered the reception to the theme from Ghostbusters (Jeff, an ardent fan of the movie, entered the reception wearing a homemade lighted jet-pack). An added attraction: a shark-shaped ice sculpture and ice luge martini bar. Pauline’s family shared a variety of homemade Greek desserts with guests and Jeff’s uncle, DJ Peter Healy, got everyone dancing. “We stayed until the end of the reception,” says Pauline. “It all went off just fine.”
