Sue and Sam had an immediate connection when they first met. Introduced by mutual friends, they shared similar views on life and their career directions. “It was lovely to see how well Sam melded with my family,” Sue says, noting that he fit right in with her tight-knit Korean relatives.
The couple wanted a traditional wedding ceremony that reflected themselves and their new union. Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA, was one of their favorite spots to visit on the North Shore so they chose to get married at the adjacent Crane Estate. The couple’s close relationship was reflected in their wedding ceremony. “We wanted to create a new beginning by honoring new traditions,” Sue says. The couple integrated Korean wedding customs, sharing a cup of tea and presenting Sue’s mother with a pair of marriage ducks, representing longevity. “The ceremony was about collaboration and we grew closer during the process of planning our wedding,” Sue says. “It was lovely.”
