Jackie Eagle & James Diguiseppe

Groton, MA

Planning a wedding can be challenging, but planning a wedding from thousands of miles away would daunt even an experienced event planner. Thanks to their families and friends, Jackie and James – who are originally from the Boston area – were up to the challenge. James proposed to Jackie on her birthday, December 30, 2013, three days before they moved from Chicago to Sydney, Australia. “We knew we’d be planning a wedding from afar,” says Jackie.

The couple’s families handled much of the planning. Jackie’s mother visited venues in Boston. A friend from Chicago, Tyler Waldorf, coordinated flowers, save-the-date notices and invitations. The couple timed food tastings, dress shopping and other details around a one-time visit back to the U.S.

The couple was married in an intimate ceremony inside the Ruins, a former stone castle located on the grounds of The Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA; the family and guests enjoyed dinner and dancing afterwards in the Barn. Although they returned to their life down under, Jackie and James are looking forward to moving back to the States in 2016.
